Why is there a firm subscription AND a per-client fee?

The firm fee covers your team’s access to the platform — seats, integrations, AI workflows. The per-client fee covers each client’s documents, reconciliation and submissions. This separation keeps your costs predictable as your team and your client list grow independently of each other.

What's an AI credit?

One credit is roughly one chat question, or about a tenth of a generated report. Most customers don’t think about credits — your monthly allowance covers typical usage and we’ll alert you at 80% usage so nothing breaks.

What if I run out of credits?

Raise your plan’s credit pool with the slider on each tier card, or move to a higher tier. There’s no hard cliff — workflows keep running while you choose.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Start a free trial to run TaxLayer on your own data — capture, reconcile, submit, generate a report — and see the platform working on your books before you commit. No credit card required to start.

Can I switch tiers later?

Yes. Move up or down at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades apply at the next billing cycle. Your data, integrations and history stay exactly where they are.

Annual vs monthly billing — what’s the difference?

Annual billing is roughly 15–20% cheaper per month than paying monthly, and gets you a single yearly invoice. Monthly billing keeps your cancellation rights flexible with no commitment.

Can I cancel any time?

Yes. Cancel from your billing settings — your subscription runs until the end of the current period, then stops. Export every document, report and audit trail before you go.

What payment methods do you accept?

All major credit and debit cards through Stripe. SEPA direct debit, bank transfer and invoice billing are available on annual plans for Growth tier and above.

Are AADE myDATA submission fees included?

Yes. There are no per-submission fees. Your tier’s monthly allowance covers all the myDATA submissions your business actually generates.
